Alaafin of Oyo,Oba Lamidi Adeyemi dies at 83

The Alaafin of Oyo,Oba Lamidi has passed on. The top Yoruba monarch died in the late hours if Friday according to the palace officials.

Oba Adeyemi died at the Afe Babalola University Teaching Hospital Ado Ekiti. The late Alaafin's first son and other of his children had received the monarch's remains at Idi-Igba Oyo town this morning for preparations of the burial rites,as the Islamic Religion demands for proper burial.

 Late Oba Adeyemi ruled for 52 years before his demise,making him the longest-reigned Alaafin.
