EFCC operatives has arrested Ex-Governor of Imo state, Rochas Okorocha in the early hours of today May 24 at about 6:30pm.
The senator was arrested after the security operatives fired teargas to disperse protesters who do not want his arrest.
The Senator was spotted in a video inside his mansion saying "EFCC security agency has invaded my house breaking and shooting my bullet proof doors"
Okorocha was later whisked into a while Hilux vehicle after the siege which started since 11:30am today.
William Uwujaren, an EFCC spokesperson stated that, Okorocha jumped the administrative bail and resisted been served court papers for his corruption trial allegedly stealing public funds while he was Imo state Governor.
The case was assigned to Honourable Justice Inyang Ekwo of the Federal high court Abuja but arraigned Senator Okorocha was twice stalled owing to his absence. At the last adjournment date March 28 2022 to May 30th the justice warned that that will be the last adjournment he will grant on the matter.
The commission was left with no choice than the siege to make sure he appears.
